Responsiblities
of the Chancery Clerk

Serves
as Clerk of the Board of Supervisors |

Keeps and preserves
minutes of Board Meetings |

Issues checks
after invoices are approved by the Board |

Performs all
duties of allowing or disallowing homestead exemption applications and
preparing assessment rolls |

Serves as County
Treasurer and County Auditor |
| • |
Receives and
deposits all monies for a budget of 20 million dollars |

Serves as Clerk
of Chancery Court |
| • |
Receives, files
and maintains all papers related to Divorces, Child Custody, Equity and
land matters, Probate of Estates and Mental Health cases |
| • |
Records and
preserves all Deeds, Deeds of Trust, Powers of Attorney, Uniform Commercial
Codes, Federal Tax Liens, Military Discharges, etc. |

Collects and
disburses all prior year delinquent taxes |

| The Pontotoc
County Collector's Coin was the idea and was designed by Bill Rutledge,
Mayor of the City of Pontotoc and Reggie Collums, Chancery Clerk of Pontotoc
County. The coin represents the special heritage of Pontotoc County. Visit
